Northallerton Leisure Centre Sports Hall Essential Works Due to essential maintenance, availability in the sports hall will be limited to one side of the hall between Monday 12 February and Tuesday 5 March 2024. Scaffolding will be in the reception area and sports hall, but don’t worry – the gym, pool, studios and Wellbeing Suite are open as normal. Some rerouting for access to spaces/activities will be necessary – please follow directional signage in centre.


Swimming is an exercise that is open to virtually everyone and is one of the most effective all round health and fitness workouts. It is also a fun activity to do as a family.

In line with CIMSPA National Safety guidelines, a responsible adult must accompany children under eight using the swimming pools. All sessions are operated on a two children to one adult basis for all children under eight. Adults should maintain a constant watch over the children and remain in close contact with weak/ non swimmers. Please inform the lifeguards if you have a medical condition that may compromise your safety or that of other swimmers before entering the pool. If you have experienced sickness or diarrhoea in the last 48 hours you should not enter the pool. Appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times.
